The WeatherLink Network is collection of websites containing customer weather information that is stored on a server owned by Davis Instruments. Being part of the WeatherLink Network and having a site on WeatherLink.com means you are part of a community of weather enthusiasts who use the WeatherLink Network to view their own weather data and to share that weather data with friends and people across the world quickly and easily.

Yes. All the web site features of WeatherLinkIP only require a Web browser to access your online account, so these features can be accessed from a Mac. However, WeatherLink
Software is not available for the Mac. This means you cannot use the WeatherLink Software to access a WeatherLinkIP directly from the Mac or download archive data to your computer.

Our original WeatherLink Software allows you to view and keep historical records, raw data, graphs, your own custom reports and more from your own weather station—all on your own PC. It also has provisions for making your own web pages, which you can create and upload to your own internet site. However, to do this, you need to know how to make a web site, buy the domain name, and set up your site with a host.
WeatherLinkIP includes all the features of the WeatherLink software, plus it does all the web site creation, upkeep, and hosting for you. No web page designing or set up, no hosting fees or uploads, no domain names needed. With WeatherLinkIP, you plug your data logger into your Vantage Pro or Vantage Pro2 console or Envoy and into your router/hub for immediate data upload.

Yes, WeatherLinkIP is a fully functional data logger that can be accessed over your network with WeatherLink 5.8 with all the same features as a serial or USB data logger. However, when the real-time bulletin is running in WeatherLink 5.8, one minute current conditions updates are still sent to weatherlink.com, but archive data will not be uploaded until the bulletin is closed.

The DID and Key Code uniquely identify your data logger on the WeatherLink Network (WeatherLink.com). They are both required to create a login on WeatherLink.com and are used to connect the WeatherLinkIP data logger to the software.
A "DID" is your Device ID. It is 12 characters long and consists of numbers 0 through 9 and letters A through F. The DID is found next to "DID" on the label attached to the WeatherLinkIP data logger. The "Key Code" is a security key, like a password, that goes with your DID. It is found on the label attached to the WeatherLinkIP data logger.

If you enter an incorrect username and password, there will be a link to an account recovery form where you can have your login information sent to the email address you entered when you created your account.
Try to Login again. You will see the "Recover" link if you enter the wrong user name or password.

We have created WeatherLinkIP to work with our www.weatherlink.com site, which is maintained by Davis Instruments. Simply plug the WeatherLinkIP data logger into the back of your Vantage Pro console, Vantage Pro2 console or Weather Envoy and connect to your cable or DSL router/hub. Please note: A router or hub and internet service is required for the proper operation of this product.
A PC is not required for data upload, however, it is required to view your weather online. Once you register online, you'll be able to see all your data. It's that simple.
Note: When you plug in your WeatherLinkIP data logger to your cable/DSL router and your console/Envoy, it instantly starts uploading data to www.weatherlink.com—without you doing anything else. Leave the data logger plugged in to your console or Envoy and it will upload to your account on www.weatherlink.com automatically. You'll need to register/login to your account to see the data.
Because WeatherLinkIP is simply connected to your router/hub and console/Envoy, you'll have the full features of WeatherLink software at your fingertips throughout your computer network.

Most wireless broadband routers also have one or more standard cabled Ethernet ports. Your WeatherLinkIP can connect directly to one of these ports.

If your page is not flagged as private in your Account Management settings, your data can be viewed by anyone who visits www.weatherlink.com/user/<YourUserName>. Your archive data can be accessed through a "Web Download" station in WeatherLink 5.8. If you want others to be able to access your archive data through a Web Download station, you must share your username and password with them so they can enter in their copy of WeatherLink.

Current conditions are sent every minute (60 seconds) from your data logger to the WeatherLink website.

WeatherLink.com emulates the behavior of your console (or Envoy). It stores four times the amount of data on your console/Envoy. Depending on the archive interval, up to 800 days (just over 2 years) worth of weather data will be stored on WeatherLink.com. If you wish to keep your weather data for a longer duration, we suggest you periodically download your weather data from WeatherLink.com to your own PC using the WeatherLink software. Just like the hardware data logger, the oldest records are overwritten.

Yes, you can link directly to your Current Conditions page with the url http://www.weatherlink.com/user/<YourUserName>. You can also link to the other views by copying the url for that view directly.

No, WeatherLinkIP requires AC power. Battery power can be used for short-term backup power in the event of a power outage, but a console with WeatherLinkIP will run for less than two days on battery power alone.

Yes, WeatherLinkIP will not work with dialup service. Because WeatherLinkIP sends data updates every minute, it requires an "always-on" internet connection and a broadband router with an available Ethernet port.

- Verify the WeatherLinkIP data logger is fully inserted in the console or Envoy and that both ends of the Ethernet cable are securely connected.
- Verify that the WeatherLinkIP is connected correctly to your broadband router and that the link light is lit on both the WeatherLinkIP and on the broadband router port to which it is connected.
- Try rebooting your console and router. While leaving the WeatherLinkIP connected to your router, remove the batteries from the console then disconnect power sources for both the console and the router. Wait a few seconds then repower your router. Wait about one minute and re-power your console.
- Verify that a PC connected to another port on the same broadband router can access the Internet. This should confirm operation of your router and Internet connection.

Your station will not be shown if:
- You have not registered your WeatherLinkIP on www.weatherlink.com.
- Your account shows the factory default Latitude/Longitude of 37.6/-122.1. Setting your Latitude/Longitude in the My Account page will fix this.
- Your station is marked as private in your account settings.

The location on the map is set by the Latitude/Longitude in your account profile. To change your location on the map, you can either enter a new Latitude/Longitude, or set the location graphically on a map by using the link on the My Account page.

You can either set the station as private, in which case you'll need to log in to view your summary as well, or set the Latitude/Logitude to 37.6/-122.1.
